This is a hi resolution archival print of an original oil painting on wood board.

This piece depicts an Axolotl, a cute charismatic descendant of the tiger salamander. A creature who inhabits central Mexico and indigenous to two spring fed lakes.  They are an endangered specie that has the ability to regenerate whole organs, limbs and parts of the central nervous system. That makes this fascinating creature a huge hit in the scientific community.

These adorable chubby amphibians breathe through their brightly colored frilly gills almost entirely but have developed lungs that they use secondarily at the waters surface.

This piece pays homage to natures pure and resilient ability to overcome most anything showing off a very unique and beautiful creature, with its regeneration being personified in the clutch of eggs at the edges. Gold flecks are attributed to the very special, rare and almost royal qualities these animals possess.

Print Measures: 11x14 (only available in this size)

The paper is a durable archival hot press watercolor paper with a soft touch.

Image is full bleed (no white boarders)
